Larry Greenfield
Larry Greenfield recently completed 5 years as the California Regional
Director of the Republican Jewish Coalition, overseeing 10 growing chapters
in the Golden State, and a broadening of the Jewish political conversation.
He has undertaken a new position in 2009, as the Vice President, and Fellow
in American Studes, at
The Claremont Institute for the Study of Statesmanship & Political
Philosophy.
Larry helps to oversee the scholarship of one of America's leading think
tanks,
which publishes the highly regarded quarterly, The Claremont Review of
Books.
Larry lectures widely on American foreign policy and national security
issues, and he served in the Armed Forces of the United States in Naval
Intelligence.
He is a frequent traveler to the Middle East, and has focused on the
strategic and political responses in the West to the rise of Radical Islam,
including energy diversification, independence and security.
Larry grew up in Southern California, and was a classmate of murdered Wall
Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl. He earned his BA in political
science from the University of California at Berkeley, graduating in 3 years
as Class Speaker.
He picked up his law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center, where
he worked on an arrest warrant for PLO chief Yasir Arafat, which helped to
deter his appearance before the United Nations.
Prior to joining The Claremont Institute as Vice President, Larry worked
professionally in law, business, philanthropy, and politics.
