“The Saudi Infiltration into the American National Infrastructure”,  from the Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson Policy Seminar Series

On September 10th 2009, on the eve of that fateful day eight years ago when 3,000 Americans had lost their lives, and ever mindful of the fact that 15 out of the 19 pilots who had attempted to fly their planes into American landmarks were Saudi nationals, EMET once again hosted its annual seminar entitled: The Saudi Penetration into the American national Infrastructure. We would like to thank Representative Sue Myrick , Co-Chair of the Congressional Anti-Terrorism Caucus and Andy Polk, as well as the Adelson Family Foundation for enabling this to come about. Please click onto the recording below to be able to watch this extremely informative and important seminar:

Our speakers included:

Islamic Jihad in America: What You Need to Know About Radical Muslim Infiltration of American Culture, Finance, Education and Life

On September 10, 2008 EMET, with the help of the Adelson Family Foundation, launched a series of important public education seminars on how Saudi Arabia and extremist Islamic groups are influencing American institutions.  For several decades, a constellation of radical Islamic groups with terrorist links have carried out a number of “under-the-radar” propaganda campaigns in America.

Using their financial largess from petro-dollars, Saudi billionaires and Islamic fundamentalists have been quietly trying to buy their way into legitimacy.  They can be found funneling dollars to politicize university Middle East studies programs, pressuring American book publishers to distort history in K-12 textbooks, and intimidating independent scholars through expensive legal action. They have even set up shop on Wall Street.

Who are they and what they are doing was the focus of an unprecedented full day of presentations on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.  See each of the presentations in this EMET video exclusive.

Panel 1 – Saudi Infiltration Into Our Cultural and Legal Infrastructure

This series features experts who uncover the role of Saudi Arabia, Muslim terrorist groups and a network of U.S.-based Muslim groups.

Ali Al-Ahmed, Director, Institute for Gulf Affairs

This is a rare glimpse of life in Saudi Arabia by a leading human rights advocate.  An examination of Saudi Arabia’s culture of intimidation and how it has made its way into the United States.

Panel 2 – Saudi Infiltration Into Our Financial & Educational System

Saudi Arabia and Islamic extremists have spent the last two decades trying to distort Middle East history in American K-12 and in higher education.  Their tentacles have even reached into the heart of our nation’s financial district, on Wall Street.  This is   disturbing review of a number of insidious campaigns.

Andrew Cochran, Co-chair, The Counterterrorism Foundation

A seemingly innocuous school in northern Virginia has been preaching Islamic radicalism under the nose of local government and the U.S. State Department.  The uncovering of the Islamic Saudi Academy in Fairfax County, Virginia.

Frank Gaffney, president, The Center for Security Policy

Operating under the label of “Sharia Compliant Financing”, this is the untold story of how a group of Muslim financial consultants are changing the way Wall Street invests.

Winfield Myers, Director, Campus Watch

Middle East studies at American colleges once were a sleepy affair.  Then came Saudi money and it has all changed.  The story behind the politicization of Middle East studies and how it inhibits objective scholarship.

Dr. Sandra Alfonsi, Chair, Curriculum Watch

K-12 history books should be the last refuge for truth.  Yet it has become the latest victim of political correctness as political agenda-based textbooks distort Middle East history to American school age children in their textbooks.  An expose of the retreat of America’s textbook publishers, from Prentice Hall and Holt Reinhart to small publishing houses.
