SUMMARY:Israel Alone: The International Community’s Use of Lawfare Against the Jewish Homeland
DESCRIPTION:READ TRANSCRIPT HERE \nAs the United Nations\, International Criminal Court\, and International Court of Justice focus their efforts on demonizing Israel’s defensive efforts to protect its citizens in the wake of the 10/7 massacre\, the Biden administration has either been complicit (in refusing to exercise its veto at the UN General Assembly and in fact submitting its own anti-Israel resolutions demanding an end to the Gaza war)\, or has aided and abetted such immorally reprehensible efforts. Demands to prevent incursions into Rafah\, force “humanitarian aid” into Hamas-controlled Gaza despite its use of human shields in the form of Palestinian citizens and Israeli hostages\, and political motivations to prevent Israel’s ability to achieve it’s wartime goals that include release of all hostages\, have only been met by international roadblocks supported by the Biden administration. In response to the issuance of arrest warrants for Israel’s democratically elected leaders by the prosecutor at the ICC\, the House of Representatives\, in a bipartisan effort\, voted to sanction the ICC members just as President Trump had done when he was in office. President Biden instead has threatened to veto such legislation in effect supporting the ICC’s disgraceful efforts. In addition\, the administration has been pressuring various EU officials to not issue sanctions against Iran in response to the IAEA’s report of numerous violations as Iran pursues nuclear weapons. What do all of these actions mean\, what is Israel’s best defense\, what will be the impact of these measures on Israel’s ability to fight the war against Hamas and win\, and what should the U.S. be doing to help Israel. To answer all of these questions and provide further insights into the complicated nature of international law in the face of Israel’s existential war for survival\, is international law expert Avi Bell. \nAbout the Speaker: Avi Bell is an Israeli Professor of Law at the University of San Diego School of Law and at Bar-Ilan University’s Faculty of Law. Bell received his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Chicago\, and his S.J.D. from Harvard. He interned in the office of Israeli Supreme Court judge Mishael Cheshin. \nIn addition\, Bell frequently writes about the Arab-Israeli conflict. He also debated Richard Goldstone in a debate at Stanford Law School entitled “The Goldstone Report and the Application of International Law to the Arab-Israeli Conflict\,” where a few days later\, Goldstone said that “contrary to the report’s assertions\, Israel did not intentionally target civilians.” \nIn 2006\, Bell criticized Human Rights Watch for its reports on the Second Lebanon War\, claiming that the organization’s claims “mislead readers and betray … bias\,” and that “HRW investigation [in Srifa\, Lebanon] was either professionally incompetent or a complete fabrication” and “nothing more than window dressing for predetermined anti-Israel conclusions.” Human Rights Watch responded by claiming that Bell “displays a curious ignorance about even the basic requirements of international humanitarian law” However\, a 2007 report of Human Rights Watch admitted that its “allegation [of criminality in Srifa] turned out to be wrong.” The report stated that “eyewitnesses were not always forthcoming about the identity of those that died\, and in the case of Srifa\, misled our researchers … a visit to the graveyard made it possible to establish that most of those killed in Srifa were actually combatants\,” and concluding that “further Human Rights Watch investigations into a deadly strike at Srifa established that an Israeli attack there killed 17 combatants and five civilians on July 19\, not the 26 civilians claimed in Fatal Strikes” and “Human Rights Watch regrets the serious inaccuracy in its initial Fatal Strikes report.” \nBell was formerly a visiting professor at Fordham University School of Law and the University of Connecticut School of Law. He currently teaches classes on property and intellectual property at University of San Diego School of Law\, and on property\, intellectual property and public international law at Bar-Ilan University’s Faculty of Law. Bell also serves as Senior Fellow at the Kohelet Policy Forum.

SUMMARY:National Security Implications of America’s Open Border Crisis
DESCRIPTION:READ TRANSCRIPT HERE \nAmerica is facing an unprecedented crisis of illegal immigration due to President Biden’s open border policies and failure to enforce our country’s immigration laws with potentially catastrophic consequences to our national security. America has never faced such a mass migration crisis in which quite likely more than 10 million migrants have illegally swarmed our Southern border and been permitted to freely enter the country. More “gotaways” than in the previous decade combined have joined them\, skyrocketing by close to 400% since President Biden has been in office\, while perhaps untold numbers of others may have also slipped in. Frighteningly\, an impossible to know number of individuals on the terrorist watchlist have also snuck into the country with over 350 since Biden took office stopped at the Southern border. In fact\, federal agents just arrested eight nationals from Tajikistan (the country of origin of the terrorists who murdered 139 people at a concert in Moscow earlier this year) who had been screened at the Southern border and released into the country but who are now believed to have possible ties to ISIS. No one should be surprised given that FBI director Christopher Wray recently testified before Congress about his concerns that criminal and terrorists are streaming in from Latin America. Join us for an important and insightful discussion with expert Todd Bensman on the dangers and vulnerabilities to our country’s national security as a result of the Biden administration’s failure to enforce our immigration laws and secure our border. \nAbout the Speaker: Todd Bensman\, a two-time National Press Club award winner\, currently serves as the Texas-based Senior National Security Fellow for the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS)\, a Washington\, D.C. policy institute for which he writes\, speaks\, and grants media interviews about the nexus between immigration and national security. He frequently reports from the southern border\, in Mexico and in Latin America. He has testified before Congress as an expert witness and regularly appears on radio and television outlets to discuss illegal immigration and border security matters. Separately\, he writes about homeland security and terrorism subjects for Newsweek Magazine\, Homeland Security Today\, The New York Post\, Townhall\, The Federalist\, the Investigative Project on Terrorism\, SpyTalk\, The Daily Wire\, The National Pulse\, The National Interest\, and other publications. He serves as a Writing Fellow for the Middle East Forum and also teaches terrorism\, intelligence analysis\, and journalism as a university adjunct lecturer. He is the author of two books: the 2023 book OVERRUN\, How Joe Biden Unleashed the Greatest Border Crisis in U.S. History and also America’s Covert Border War: The Untold Story of the Nation’s Battle to Prevent Jihadist Infiltration. For nearly a decade prior to joining CIS in August 2018\, Bensman led counterterrorism intelligence for the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Intelligence and Counterterrorism Division and its multi-agency fusion center. Before his homeland security service\, Bensman was a journalist for 23 years\, covering national security after 9/11 as a staff writer for major newspapers. You can follow Bensman’s work at www.toddbensman.com.

SUMMARY:Mosab Hassan Yousef\, The son of one of the founders of Hamas\, Sheik Hassan Yousef
DESCRIPTION:READ TRANSCRIPT HERE \nIf anyone understands the mentality of Hamas\, and all of the Islamic resistance groups\, it is the son of one of the seven founders of Hamas\, Mosab Hassan Yousef. Otherwise known as “The Green Prince”\, EMET has developed a very close personal relationship with Mosab\, since we honored him in 2010. It is our profound pleasure to be able to interview Mosab\, who has been through a very arduous and difficult journey away from his deep roots within the Muslim Brotherhood\, and its Palestinian branch\, Hamas. \nMosab has been making a great come back lately and has been on many national and international television programs. For example\, please see his brilliant remarks on a recent edition of Piers Morgan. \nMosab will discuss the war in Gaza\, what is happening in southern Lebanon with Hezbollah\, the Iranian and Qatari relationship to Hamas\, and what is taking place within our nation\, particularly on US college campuses. \nAbout the Speaker: Mosab Hassan Yousef was born in Ramallah in 1978. His father\, Sheikh Hassan Yousef\, is a founding leader of Hamas\, internationally recognized as a terrorist organization and responsible for countless suicide bombings and other deadly attacks against Israel. Yousef was an integral part of the movement\, for which he was imprisoned several times by the Shin Bet\, the Israeli intelligence service. He withstood torture in prison only to discover Hamas was torturing its own people in a relentless search for collaborators. He began to question who his enemies really were—Israel? Hamas? America? While in an Israeli prison\, Yousef was approached about becoming a spy for the Shin Bet. Initially\, Yousef accepted it with the idea that he would betray them and in hopes he could use the role to protect his father and family. Later\, as Yousef saw the hypocrisy within Hamas and became a Christian\, he used the position to save lives on both sides of the conflict. Yousef worked as a double agent within Hamas for nearly 10 years. He became a vital intelligence asset for the Israeli government while Yousef served side-by-side with his father within the upper ranks of Hamas. After a chance encounter with a British tourist\, Yousef started a six-year quest that jeopardized Hamas\, endangered his family and threatened his life. He was granted political asylum in the United States. \nHis first book\, part history and part biography\, is called Son of Hamas. He has a new book coming out soon\, called The Last Prophet.
