Gil is an American presidential historian and Zionist activist. He is a senior fellow in Zionist Jewish though at the Jewish People Policy Institute. Jerusalem Time \nHezbollah\, the Shiite terrorist group\, joined the barbaric attacks against Israel on October 8th. Hezbollah has stepped up its attacks against the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF)  and the communities living near the Lebanese border in northern Israel\, such as Metula and Kiryat Shmona\, despite the ceasefire declared in November\, 2024. The IDF have been given clear and specific instruction to pamphlet the “air knock” on homes\, trying to move the population to north of the Litani River. \nOn Thursday\, Sgt. Liem Ben-Hamo was killed in southern Lebanon\, and eleven of his fellow IDF soldiers have been injured\, and Hezbollah attacks have not ceased. Israel has tried to create a 10 kilometer buffer zone in southern Lebanon\, but despite that\, Hezbollah has been rearming\, regrouping and reorganizing. The Lebanese government has officially outlawed Hezbollah’s activities\, calling them “irresponsible” and “Illegal.” \nAbout Our Speaker: \nLieutenant Colonel (Res.) Sarit Zehavi is the founder and president of Alma\, a nonprofit and an independent research and education center specializing in Israel’s security challenges on its northern border. Sarit has briefed hundreds of groups and forums\, ranging from US Senators\, Congressmen/women\, and politicians to senior journalists and visiting VIP groups in Israel and overseas. Sarit scripts numerous position papers and updates focusing on Lebanon\, Syria\, and Israel’s national security challenges. She served for 15 years in the Israeli Defense Forces\, specializing in military intelligence\, holds an M.A. in Middle East Studies from Ben-Gurion University\, and is also a member of Forum Devora\, promoting the equal representation of women in key decision-making positions in the fields of national security and foreign policy. Her unique achievements led her to be selected by the Jerusalem Post as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Jews of 2021. \nSarit lives in the Western Galilee.
