EMET Announces Its 8th Annual Rays of Light in the Darkness Dinner

(Washington, D.C. – May 19, 2014) – Today, The Endowment for Middle East Truth (EMET) announced that its 8th Annual Rays of Light in the Darkness dinner will be held on June 18, 2014 in the Washington, DC area.

Every year, EMET holds its Rays of Light in the Darkness Gala Event in the Washington, DC area.  (For security reasons, the exact location will be disclosed only to those attending the dinner).  The event brings together the pro-Israel, pro-American national security community to celebrate those who are standing up for Israeli and American security, and standing up for the emet, (Hebrew for truth), despite the cost.  EMET is honoring those persons – whether they be U.S. public officials, human rights activists and/or journalists – who are willing to speak the truth about Israel and the threat to the U.S. from radical Islam.  Most importantly, EMET is the only organization that honors bold individuals (Muslim and Christian) from the Muslim world who have had the courage to speak the truth about radical Islam and the nature of the anti-Western world from which they hail.  EMET relies on the Rays of Light in the Darkness dinner to keep its doors open, and continue its good work educating the U.S. Congress and the American people.

Past EMET Speakers of the Truth award recipients have included U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton; U.S. Senators Joseph Lieberman, Daniel Inouye, and Ted Cruz, U.S. Representatives Trent Franks, Brad Sherman, Doug Lamborn, Shelly Berkley, Jeff Duncan, and Tom Lantos; human rights activists Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Simon Deng, Bridgette Gabriel, Dr. Juhdi Zasser, Reza Kahlili, and Mosab Hassan Yousef; and journalists/columnists Cal Thomas, Steven Emerson, and Bret Stephens.

This year, EMET is honoring as its 2014 Speakers of Truth: Dr. Charles Krauthammer, Governor Mike Huckabee (R-AR), Dr. Ashraf Ramelah, Congressman Peter Roskam (R-IL), and Congressman Dan Lipinski (D-IL).
