EMET president to discuss Iran nuclear deal Aug. 18

Sarah Stern, founder and president of Endowment for Middle East Truth, will speak on ”The Iran Nuclear Agreement: The Challenge of Our Generation” at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 18 at Oheb Zedek-Cedar Sinai Synagogue, 23749 Cedar Road in Lyndhurst.

Stern, of Silver Spring, Md., founded EMET in 2006. It’s a think tank and policy center in Washington, D.C., focused on educating the country’s policy makers about Israel’s challenges.

EMET conducts monthly seminars on Capitol Hill, bringing in experts from around the world to educate members of Congress and their staffs.

Prior to forming EMET, Stern was director of the Office of Governmental and Legislative Affairs of the American Jewish Congress. She previously served as national policy coordinator of the Zionist Organization of America.

The event is free and open to the community. A dessert reception will follow the talk.
