Hussein Aboubakr Mansour is the Director for Emerging Democratic Voice in the Middle East for EMET. Hussein is a native Egyptian who tried to counter anti-semitism in Egypt and promote normalization with Israel. He participated in the Arab Spring and received political asylum in the United States in 2012. Hussein worked as an instructor for language and culture at the Defense Language Institute at Monterey, California then proceeded to work as an educator and public speaker for StandWithUs, educating students about cultural and geopolitical issues in the Middle East as well as helping them countering antisemitism. Hussein is the author of his autobiography “Minority of One: The Unchaining of the Arab Mind,” and he has also written articles that have appeared in the Jewish Journal, the Times of Israel, Mosaic Magazine, and Commentary.

M. Zuhdi Jasser, M.D. is the Founder and President of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD) and Co-Founder of the Muslim Reform Movement. He is also the author of A Battle for the Soul of Islam: An American Muslim Patriot’ s Fight to Save His Faith (Simon & Schuster, June 2012). On March 20, 2012, Dr. Jasser was appointed by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) where he served two terms both as a Commissioner and Vice-Chair until May 2016. A first generation American Muslim, Dr. Jasser’s parents fled the oppressive Baath regime of Syria in the mid-1960’s for American freedom. A devout Muslim, he and his family have strong ties to the American Muslim community having helped lead mosques in Wisconsin, Arkansas, Virginia and Arizona.
