On July 14, the deal between President Obama and the Iranian Islamist regime is turning one year old.

Since the acceptance of the Iranian deal, Iran has dramatically increased its aggression and hostility towards the U.S., Israel, and in the Middle East.  It continues to be the leading state sponsor of terrorism worldwide, even using its $100-$150 billion in frozen funds to boost funding for Hezbollah, and Hamas.  It also supports Assad in Syria, the bloody dictator who has killed half of million of his own people and forced millions of others to flee to Europe, destabilizing two continents.  Iran initiated the sack of the Saudi Embassy in Tehran to protest the execution of a Shia Saudi cleric.  It has also been working steadily to overthrow the governments of Yemen and Bahrain.  And its leadership continues to call for “Death to America” and “Death to Israel.”

However, regardless of Iranian aggression, new Iranian demands, and the continuing repression of its own people, the Obama Administration and the West continue to protect the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the nuclear deal between Iran and the P 5 + 1, and celebrate it as a dramatic success.

To discuss the recent events regarding the Iran nuclear deal, EMET is proud to host national security expert Fred Fleitz.
