On Tuesday, March 17th, Israel will hold its next round of general elections. Please join us as we hear from two leading experts on the impact the results will have on Israel’s national security, the U.S.-Israel relationship, and the growing threat of a nuclear Iran, in light of a looming deal between the Islamist Regime and the U.S.
Dan Diker is a Research Fellow at the International Institute for Counter Terrorism and Foreign Policy Fellow at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs. He is also a columnist with the Jerusalem Post where he writes on the Middle East, national security, and diplomatic affairs. Mr. Diker served as Director of Strategic Affairs and then as Secretary General of the World Jewish Congress, the global diplomatic organization representing the official Jewish communities in 100 countries. Previously, he was Knesset Affairs reporter for Israel’s Channel One English News. Mr. Diker received a BA from Harvard University Cum Laude and attended the Harvard Graduate School of Business. He received an MA in Government and Counter Terrorism Policy, Summa Cum Laude, from the Interdisciplinary Center, Herzelia. Mr. Diker has lived in Israel since 1990 residing with his family near Jerusalem.
Alex Traiman is the Jerusalem Bureau Chief for JNS.org. Traiman has provided coverage and analysis of Israel’s past three elections, providing unique insights into Israel’s political landscape, regional security threats–in particular Iran, and the US-Israel diplomatic relationship. Traiman is a critically-acclaimed documentary filmmaker, directing the award-winning film ‘Iranium’ on the dangers of Iran’s nuclear program, and producing the award-winning film ‘Honor Diaries’ on the systemic abuse of women in Muslim-majority societies. Traiman also directed a short documentary on President Barack Obama’s relationship with the State of Israel in the run-up to the 2012 elections. Traiman also serves as Director of New Media, and Senior Contributor at Voice of Israel.
