Middle East

About this Issue

One of the most volatile regions in the world, the Middle East is a major focus of U.S. foreign policy. One reason is that the Middle East provides much of the world’s oil and natural gas. Another is that many of the international terrorists targeting the U.S. are from that area. And another is that Israel, the U.S.’s strongest ally, is in that region. EMET educates Congress about Israel and the rest of the nations of the Middle East.
