The Palestinian Dane-geld

The Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) was the terror group that introduced the world to airline hijackings. Because of the PLO and other terror groups, the average air traveler must go through long security lines and metal detectors, remove his shoes and belt, and refrain from bringing large bottles of liquid onto the plane, among other items.

The PLO pioneered the idea of grabbing hostages and making demands for those hostages during the 1972 Munich Olympics. More specifically, taking, torturing (including castrating), and slaughtering hostages at the Olympics, an operation reportedly financed by current Palestinian leader Mahmood Abbas.

The PLO introduced the concept of terror camps, wherein an amazing example of “intersectionality,” groups of all regionsreligions, and colors gather together, and learn from the accomplished PLO how to shoot civilians, make bombs, and (as mentioned before) hijack planes.

Since gaining territory to rule post-Oslo, the Palestinian Authority (PA), the successor organization to the PLO, has continued to work hard to produce more terrorism. They start early. When a Palestinian boy or girl is a toddler, the child may watch PA-funded children’s television shows glorifying “martyrdom,” while other Palestinian children are on TV singing about killing Jews. When the Palestinian child gets old enough, he or she likely goes to a school that is named for a terrorist who has killed innocent civilians. The lessons this child learns in school include the demonization of Jews and the promotion of terrorism and murder. This Palestinian child may attend after school activities, such as dance recitals, where he or she might perform dances to songs like “Pull, For You Are Pulling [the Trigger],” about shooting Jews. The child also may go to a summer camp, most likely named after a deceased terrorist. When the Palestinian child goes with his family to the mosque, he or she may hear the story of the Palestinian Arab version of Passover, which describes how, at Satan’s command, the Jews kidnap a child, put him inside a barrel of nails, put a faucet at the bottom of the barrel, so that the faucet would run with the boy’s blood that is then used to knead bread with the blood. Or, the Palestinian family could watch an Imam on PA television, such as the principal PA religious leader, the Mufti Muhammad Hussein, quoting the infamous hadith “the Hour [of Resurrection] will not come until you fight the Jews. The Jew will hide behind stones or trees. Then the stones or trees will call: ‘Oh Muslim, servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.’” When the Palestinian gets to high school, or graduates, he or she may come to understand the business cycle in the West Bank — how he/she and/or his/her family might benefit from the PA created “pay for slay” program, which, thanks to American dollars, pays generous salaries or benefits to suicide bombers and/or their families, based on how many people he or she kills, and how long he or she spends in jail.

Not surprisingly, all of this heavy labor by the PA has resulted in the creation of a radicalized and barbarous Palestinian Arab culture of death and terrorism in Judea and Samaria.

After a recent attack at the Temple Mount, where two Druze Israeli policemen were killed by Palestinian Islamists, Israel tried to install metal detectors and cameras to make sure no terrorist could again bring weapons to that area. This is a normal response, by a normal society. But this could not be tolerated by the PA. So, the PA encouraged and paid for Palestinian Arab rioting to demand that the Israelis rescind these commonsense security measures.

Now, the PA has learned to outdo the ancient Danes — who were one of the murderous medieval Viking groups — when it comes to terrorizing and collecting protection money, i.e., the Dane-geld.

It is always a temptation to an armed and agile nation

To call upon a neighbour and to say: —

“We invaded you last night — we are quite prepared to fight,

Unless you pay us cash to go away.”

And that is called paying the Dane-geld;

But we’ve proved it again and again,

That if once you have paid him the Dane-geld

You never get rid of the Dane.

Rudyard Kipling, “Dane-geld

The Palestinian Authority has taken the concept of the Dane-geld to a whole new level. Over a thousand years ago, the (then) violent Danes would promise to stop their pillaging and plundering, supposedly permanently, but in practice temporarily, if their prey paid them off. Of course, as the poem says, if the victim paid the geld, the Danes were generally not true to their word, and would return to the plundering and pillaging, when they needed more geld.

Today, unlike the Danes, the Palestinian Authority does not even bother to mouth the words of an insincere promise to lay off the terrorizing. The PA just demands the money. If Israel and the West pay, they get immediate terror. If they don’t, they still get immediate terror. But if they object to the PA actions, or don’t pay the PA, then they get arrogance, histrionics and threats.

And if there is no peace in the Middle East, the PA simply blames it on Israel (and the “settlements”).

So, the United States, and Europe, pay the PA billions of dollars. In Pal-geld.

The Trump administration has been meeting with the PA, hoping against experience that this time, the PA really wants to make peace. This will not happen. There will be no peace between Israel and the Palestinian Arabs as long as the PA exists, and continues to maintain its radical and deviant terror culture.

Those who say otherwise are either uninformed, lying, or, quite frankly, “insane.”
