According to the results of the latest poll of December 13, 2023, taken by Khalil Shikaki of the widely respected, Ramallah based, Palestinian Center for Survey and Research, “support for Hamas has more than tripled in the West Bank compared to three months ago”, (before the barbaric October 7th attacks.)

A full 85 percent of Palestinians living in the West Bank/Judea and Samaria, were satisfied with the role Hamas has played during the war. The Palestinian Authority or Fatah with President Mahmoud Abbas in control only received 7 percent support. Says Mr. Shikaki, “Support for President Mahmoud Abbas and his Fatah party drops significantly. The same is true for the trust in the PA, as a whole, as demand for its dissolution rises to nearly 60 percent, the highest percentage ever recorded in PSR polls.”

One cannot simply legislate a change of heart, among the Palestinians.

They do not want two states, living side by side in peace and security, they want one, Palestine, from the River to the Sea, as their ubiquitous chants go.

Please remember that it was Hamas, which has managed to capture the hearts and minds of most Palestinians living in the West Bank, that waged their sadistic, savage brutalities against innocent Israel men women, babies, and children on October 7th.

Not the other way around.

Just to Remind You: Babies were burned and beheaded in front of their parents. The elderly, even Holocaust survivors along with the young men and women attending a Rave peace concert were brutally kidnapped and have been held hostage in terror tunnels for over 116 days. Women have been mass raped. 1200 people were murdered on that fateful Saturday.

Why would anyone conceivably reward such atrocities with the bestowment of Palestinian statehood after the war?

One would think that after these barbaric acts, one would want to make sure Israel’s borders are more defensible, not less.

That is why it is profoundly concerning that the White House claims, according to a report in The Jerusalem Post of January 31, in the words of State Department Spokesman Max Miller, “We support the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, and we do a lot of work in the government to think about how to bring it about.”

One might argue that the White House wants to establish a demilitarized Palestinian state. However, these are the same wishful thinkers and dreamers who said the Palestinian Authority would secure the elections in Gaza and remain in control. It is just a matter of time before the Palestinians complain to the vast majority of their cohorts within the United Nations that practically every other nation on the planet has an army and that they need the dignity of one.

If Palestinian statehood were to be rewarded now before we know it an Iranian-controlled Hamas-istan would not only be an existential threat on Israel’s borders but would be within Israel’s borders.

Please remember Israel is not only fighting for its very life, here, but for the survival of the free, Western world as we know it against Iran, its allies Russia and China, and all of its terrorist proxies.

Please call the White House at (202) 456-1111, Your Senators at (202) 224-3121, and Your Congressperson at (202) 225-3121 and tell them that “Now is precisely NOT the time for a Palestinian state.”
