“The Oppression and Plight of Religious and Ethnic Minorities Under ISIS”

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

EMET was proud to host Assyrian Activist David Lazar to describe the oppression of Assyrian Christians, Yazidis, and other minorities under ISIS, and their plight for freedom.

ISIS has persecuted, murdered, enslaved, brutalized, and forced out hundreds of thousands of ethnic and religious minorities form their homes in Iraq and Syria. Following ISIS’s seizure of Mosul in June of last year, the genocidal jihadist terror group expelled thousands of Arab Christians and Yazidis from their ancestral lands in Iraq because of their unwillingness to convert to radical Sunni Islam. Many Christians and Yazidis continue to be forced into sexual slavery, and are victims of savage rapes, abduction, beheadings and executions.
