Sign this petition to tell the OJVOT that it is time to bring justice to the family of Ezra Schwartz, and all other American victims of Palestinian terrorism.
On Thursday, November 19th, 2015, 18-year-old Ezra Schwartz, a Jewish American studying abroad in Israel, was shot to death in cold blood by a Palestinian terrorist. Israel has apprehended the murderer, but it is now time for the Department of Justice (DOJ) to bring to justice the Palestinian terrorist and investigate the murder of this precious American immediately.
American victims of overseas terrorism have certain rights outlined in the Anti-Terrorism Act, which requires the prosecution and punishment, in United States courts, of individuals who murder or maim American citizens in acts of international terrorism. The Office of Justice for the Victims of Overseas Terrorism (OJVOT) was established in 2005 to serve as an advocate for victims of overseas terrorism. But the office has only helped the DOJ prosecute one case, involving the killing of an American missionary in Indonesia. A total of 64 Americans have been murdered by Palestinian terrorists in Israel and Judea and Samaria since the signing of the Oslo Accords, yet not a single Palestinian suspect implicated in their murders have been brought to justice on our shores.
