Sarah Stern

Sarah Stern is the founder and president of the Endowment for Middle East Truth (EMET) an  unabashedly pro-American and pro-Israel think and policy institute in Washington, D.C., founded in 2005. She has over four decades of experience working with policymakers on Capitol Hill as well as members of the Knesset, the Israeli Parliament.

Sarah has written for Newsweek, The New Republic, The Hill, The Jerusalem Post, JNS.org, Israel HaYom, The Times of Israel, The Algemeiner, The Washington Jewish Week, FrontPageMag.com and other outlets, and has appeared on Fox, NBC, and i24 News. She is also the author of two books, Saudi Arabia and the Global Islamic Terrorist Network (Palgrave MacMillan, 2011) and Cherished Illusions (Balfour Books, 2005).

Sarah has been involved with scores of legislative initiatives on Capitol Hill since the original Jerusalem Embassy Relocation Act of 1995, The Syria Accountability and Lebanese Sovereignty Act of 2003, The Koby Mandell Act of 2005, amendments to Title VI of the Higher Education Act in 2008 (having to do with the biases in our nation’s Middle Eastern Studies departments), the Taylor Force Act of 2017 and Recognition of Israeli Sovereignty Over the Golan Heights in 2019.

Today Sarah is focusing on the Iranian nuclear issue, the funding of the Lebanese Armed Forces despite it being overrun by Hezbollah, the difficulties with UNRWA and the Israeli Normal relations Act of 2021, which protects Muslim and Arab dissidents who have reached out to Israelis from retribution from their governments.

Prior to founding EMET in 2005, Sarah was the Director of Governmental and Legislative Affairs for the American Jewish Congress, after serving as National Policy Coordinator of the Zionist Organization of America.
