Regardless of Iranian aggressions, sanctions violations, and a deteriorating human rights record, the Obama Administration and the West continue to push forward with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the nuclear deal between Iran and the P 5 + 1. On January 16th, 2016, the JCPOA was officially implemented, and up to $150 billion in frozen funds were released, while Western sanctions were officially waived. The very same day, the US swapped Iranian spies for some American citizens held hostage by Iran, and handed over another $1.7 billion, supposedly for a “debt” payment, but possibly as a ransom for the American hostages. And the very same day, three more Americans were grabbed by Iranian backed militias in Iraq.
To discuss recent events regarding the Iran nuclear deal, EMET is proud to host national security expert Fred Fleitz.
