The Endowment for Middle East Truth is proud to host Katharine Gorka, to discuss the plight of Christians in the Middle East, an under reported yet significant issue today. The horrific kidnapping of hundreds of girls in Nigeria by Boko Haram seems to have finally brought the issue of Christian persecution in the Middle East to the attention of the American people. Yet the mainstream media neglects to mention that the problem is much larger; Christians are being raped, massacred, and sold into slavery in countries including Sudan, Nigeria, Syria, Pakistan, and Egypt and more. The U.S. Administration has also minimized the persecution of Christians, including those in Nigeria by Boko Haram, a radical Islamist organization, and has failed to label the organization as such. Please join us in hearing important updates and insights on these issues from Gorka, an expert on Islamist extremism. Katharine Gorka is the president of the Council on Global Security and contributing Co-Editor of “Fighting the Ideological War – Winning Strategies from Communism to Islamism.” She also helped establish the Westminster Institute in spring 2009 where she was responsible for helping to define the threat to liberty posed by Islamic terrorism and subversion in the United States. She works closely with US government agencies, law enforcement and the intelligence community.
